Frequently asked questions
Why isn’t PayTrie in the comparison?
PayTrie is a money services business registered with FINTRAC (M19690633) and holds a Revenu Québec MSB licence (11863). It mainly sells stablecoins (USDC, CADC), non-custodially, with a published 0.6% fee (min. $5). It is not on the AMF crypto trading platform register, which is our inclusion criterion.
Which crypto platform has the lowest fees in Quebec?
It depends on the amount and how you buy. A low listed commission can come with an unpublished spread. Use the calculator and check the official page before opening an account.
What is the spread?
The gap between the market price and the price you pay. Many “commission-free” platforms earn money this way. Most don’t publish the rate, so we mark it as not published.
How do I know if a platform is authorized in Quebec?
Check the AMF crypto trading platform registry. Our AMF registry page explains how to read it.
Is Interac deposit free?
At most platforms compared, yes, according to their official pages. Your bank may still charge a sending fee.
